Children & Family Services
Assessment & Diagnostic Services
Your Way Psychology & Education offers a range of services for children, families, and schools. We specialise in private assessment services for school-aged children exploring autism, ADHD and other areas. Our assessments are conducted by HCPC-registered professionals and adhere to NICE guidelines. Our clinical and educational teams carefully review all reports to ensure they are meaningful for the child and practical for schools and colleges to implement. In addition to diagnostic assessments, we provide educational psychologist assessments, exam access arrangements assessments, and SEN support services.
Autism Diagnostic Assessment
A multidisciplinary autism assessment follows the best practice NICE guidelines, and includes a detailed developmental history often using the ADI-R, the ADOS-2 gold-standard assessment, and input from a multidisciplinary team. This process provides a comprehensive diagnosis and tailored recommendations to support your child at home and school.
Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Assessment
We provide multidisciplinary autism and ADHD diagnostic assessments for children and young people aged 4–18, following NICE guidelines and using gold-standard tools. The process includes screening, developmental history, ADOS-2, ADHD assessments (Young DIVA-5 or ACE), QB Check, school input, and a multidisciplinary review. Families receive a detailed report, feedback session, and consultation to ensure tailored support.
Educational Psychologist Assessment
An Educational Psychology (EP) assessment helps uncover the causes of your child’s learning or social-emotional challenges in school. Using tools such as standardised tests and observations, it provides a holistic view of your child’s strengths and offers tailored recommendations to support their progress at home and school, sometimes being used in EHCP applications.
Dyslexia, Dyscalculia & Exam Access
Our learning, dyslexia, dyscalculia or exam access arrangements assessments, conducted by an educational psychologist, or appropriately qualified teacher outline personalised recommendations. Using standardised tests and observations, we assess reading, spelling, and numeracy skills with input from parents, schools, and the child.
Have a question?
“We are neuro-affirming, which means we support and celebrate neurodiversity, valuing the strengths and rights of neurodivergent individuals and providing the adaptations they need to succeed and thrive without attempting to 'fix' or change their neurotype”
